MY WORK

My creative process embraces raw emotion, often beginning with writing, poetry, or a mixed media collage. These initial steps help me visualize the form I want to create, sometimes leading to sketches that solidify my vision before I throw.

I find joy and meditation in throwing on the wheel—it’s a reflective practice that helps me stay grounded. Once the piece has dried overnight, I add sculptural, hand-built elements like flowers and leaves to elevate the form.

My work balances a moody, atmospheric quality while honoring the natural elegance of the ceramic forms.  I prioritize a form that is sculptural, yet functional and believe that sculpted forms should still occupy common places. I am inspired by the beauty of nature and I connect with the grounding energy of the clay through adding textures, patterns, and natural elements to my work.
